Restoring a historic inn in Wise County

One of the perks of covering the town I went to college in is I get to see projects like this grow. The Wise Inn, or Inn at Wise as it will be called when it is opened, is a turn-of-the-century building with a lot of history.

Actors have dined here -- ever seen "Coal Miner's Daughter"? -- and local attorneys and other bigwigs used to make their way to the Inn daily for lunch.

The Wise County IDA hopes to have the restored building open in mid-November. As you can see from the photos in this story, it is a gorgeous building. I especially love the little room above the balcony!
